Hello. IMO it's a best a very poorly reconditioned dagger comprised of original components. It has definitely been opened up, as plier marks can be seen on the tang nut. The condition of the grip can be explained as either a unsuccessful attempt to fit a replacement grip to original crossguards, or incorrectly reassembling the pieces and severely over tightening the tang nut producing the major chipping of the wood on the edges. The grip has been repainted as the it has the same color on both damaged (below the missing chunks of wood) and the undamaged surfaces (the little that exists). The scabbard too is a repaint and again poorly done and with a very high gloss. I belive the blade is original. But the dagger as a collector piece has lost most of its value due to the over tampering that has been done to it unfortunately. Kindest regards.
