Apart from the buffer pad issue, to my inexperienced eyes the engraving is nice and straight in relation to the center line of the blade, the fit of the grip to the crossguards looks tight, I guess the eagle looks odd and perhaps the SS roundel isn't quite familiar but this would stand a chance of fooling me. What are the main issues here that indicate Spanish fake?

Hi Glenn, just compare a real grip eagle with the Spanish fake. There is no comparison once you see them side by side. The fake is very stubby and angular and the swastika badly formed.

Wow, there's no comparison is there?
One day I will have a nice SS blade but not while I live in this country where even spent SS cartridges get confiscated by customs.
