Acknowledging that there is a school of thought in collecting that likes to make period TR artifacts look like 'newly minted pennies' - there is a downside. With a freshly sanded rifle stock being the "kiss of death" for serious Mauser rifle collectors. With everything polished to be evenly matched - also permitting the mixing and matching of daggers and parts that were years apart from being manufactured. Or even put together from different makers. With no idea as to who the "natural parents" were to borrow an idea from modern social circumstances. FP
I will pass on this dagger... In person its easier to see that someone has tightened the nut far to tight.. a large crack runs almost the full length of the handle and lots of chipping near the cross guards.. one big chip that could come out at any time... Shame.
Thank you for all the comments... I continue to learn from all of you.
