Oh my! That is bad. It's a very poorly made fantasy item. It's not even remotely genuine.

Can't really add to Erno's comments , a really awful modern piece.
The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )

    1st July 1916

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Another for the circular file. I have seen the Mercator name around before none the less altered pen knife. Thanks for sharing and will add it to the X files.

Yeah, Mercator as a brand is legit. Somebody just ruined a knife sticking those pooh fake TR markings on there.

The brand has exsisted since the late 1800s.
Its believed, that these were for a large part private purchase knives in the hands of German troops.

Some of these Mercator knives were brought home by returning GIs

A cheap flimsy looking knife, but dont be deceived by the look of it; like the French counterpart, the Douk-Douk (also a thin handled metal knife), the Mercator will get the job done.

Cheap knives dont mean, that they dont work - just look at the modern incarnation of the traditional French Opinel knife as well.

Ooops, I think I just went full knife geek.......
