Re: SS sword i've been offered....
Hello all,
The inscription itself is post war embellished but original TR blade.
Wittman's book does make mention of a similar style of engraving.
The rest of the sword was made in India back in the mid 1990's with all cast metal components and either plastic or cheap wooden handles. The reason why there is no matching scabbard is because the quality of the scabbard fittings were of very poor quality.
The quality of the blade and it's acis etched inscriptions should be first class even though they were done post war.

Re: SS sword i've been offered....
SS swords never had RZM blades. I have seen this fake swird (the first posted engraved example) floating around. The last time I saw it offered, it was $400.00. There is not one original piece on the sweord.
