On their last legs .......
keep on scrubbing and spray whats left with wax. that's about all you can do.

Tea works well to stabilize rust.
Fill a tub with warm water, dump a packet of teabags in and give it a stir, then immerse the relics in the brew and leave them to sit for a few hours. Leave them in the sun to dry them, or in a sealed box with silica gel packets to draw out the moisture, and you should have no further problems with active rust. The tea contains tannic acid, which converts the rust and darkens it. It does give treated relics an overall darker appearance, but it's a method I once used on a (very) crumbly lake-found relic helmet with great results. It dropped the occasional flake, but nowhere near as much as it did before.

Do you own them or want opinions on authenticity?
decal confirmation on relics is near impossible. That is why provenance is key. Amazing what the fakers can do.
Helmet 1) It might stand a chance. Don't see any decal over "pitting" but hard to tell
Helmet 2) Do not like the shape of the decal nor the 'wear" around it.
Helmet 3) No clue
Just my opinions. But near worthless on relics without having them in hand.
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

Can't comment on authenticity, but I can say that they look really nice! Even if they are fake, they're still cool nonetheless.
I agree that the second helmet decal is fake, but I'm not sure about number three either. You may get more idea if they are cleaned up a bit, but they are all quite fragile by the looks of it. Hopefully you got them very cheaply.
