Problem is that everyone is removing paint from Norwegian reissues hoping to find German decals. I've found you need to be very careful selling them to ensure the collector is interested in Norwegian history, which I understand is a very limited number outside of Norway itself

I feel really really really really really bad for you

I agree entirely if he bought it to part it out for profit but I buy to part out myself, not for profit but to complete helmets that I own that have seen better days.
But dealers do what they do to make profits regardless of history and some times illegalities

But how many Norwegian re-issued helmets have been found to have TR decals beneath? Not many. They were quite well de-nazified before being re-issued and then have had several over paints of Norwegian paint/decals before being sold off as surplus.
I feel your frustration PotatoDigger.

Just found the liner up for sale aswell, stripped of the dark brown paint and the "history-destroyer" has on purpose avoided photographing the tops of the liner tongues from the inside where the brown paint would have soaked into the leather more and any shots where the brass pins might be visible.. Got to say if you destroy history, that is one thing, but if you also scam them that is something else.. Advertised as 100% original..

P.S. I have just noticed a typo in the title.. oops, should be "another" instead of "anoher" , if a mod could change that it would be very much appreciated

It comes down to ignorance. People see a German shell, so of course it must have a decal...Norwegian stuff is really unknown outside of Norway. I had no idea about anything Norwegian, until work sent me on an 8 month trip there and it sparked my historical interest

...perhaps one question is....how many people here have ever bought part of helmet to finish their own off?.....a strap, a liner ring, chicken wire, camo cover, surefire light, nape pad, goggles....they were probably ALL on something else beforehand....
I'm guilty.

That's life I am sorry to say , look at the amount of German photo albums pulled apart to sell the photos off one at a time and its mad but true you will get more for taking a ND German helmet apart and selling it as parts than selling it as a original helmet
-
That is sad indeed, particularly since I am on the lookout of for a nice ND helmet

I know this guy! I´ve bought an empty but well conditioned shell from him about a month ago! Dammit, now i´m really dissapointed, having supported such an history slaugtherer. Sadly there is no possibility to warn people about him. But... now my doubts of its originality have increased...
