    G'day gents,
Well, I have my first relic helmet and I reckon it's a beauty! It was found during recent building works in Berlin only a couple of hundred metres from the Reichstag, it'll fit in really well with my Berlin display. I'm not sure whether it's an M35 or M40, it's pretty badly corroded and I can't tell whether the vent is stamped in or pressed in, either way it's a great piece found in an historic location. Hope you like it,
    Cheers, Dave.Berlin helmetBerlin helmetBerlin helmet

Aha!!! So the bug has bitten Dave?
The path ahead will be a rusty one ....
My vote is M40 going by the shape and metal liner band.

    Aren't rusty helmets cool?
    Cheers, Dan

I just love the fact that it came from the centre of Berlin Dan! It'll probably be my only relic helmet mate but who knows, I've done plenty of things I've said I wouldn't!

Nice relic mate, changing the subject slightly have you got a piece of the Berlin wall?...

Thanks Paul. Mate I haven't got a piece of the Berlin Wall but believe it or not all of the pieces of rubble you can see in the pic here come from the Reich Chancellery site apart from the two largest pieces which came from the Anhalter Bahnhof. I know a terrific bloke who was kind enough to send me these pieces which, I think, will look terrific as a backdrop to the main pieces I'm displaying. I've just been playing around with some of the wiring for the lights, hopefully the whole thing will be finished soon. I'm off to pick my daughter up from school now and I might do a bit more when I get home - if she lets me!

Hello mate , I too think that this is an M40. What a great back story this one has , I guess there are not all that many relics being found within yards of the Reichstag these days! Leon.
