A couple of relics - Number 1

Article about: All the helmets iv'e seen pick axed were through the top i guess all we can do is speculate, i reckon a 50 cal would quite easily make a whole like that.

    Hi all,
    This tragic lid called out to me to be bought. It isn't much but really shows the high toll that was paid by the men who fought 70 years ago.

    Nothing more to be said than that ..........

    This helmet tell a thousand words! and would be a great conversation piece as well. I like it! Thanks for sharing.

    I guess we can always hope the helmet was damaged after being abandoned.

    It doesn't look like bullet damage to me. As Glenn66 syas, I would guess the hole was later damage, perhaps it was hit with a pickaxe or something similar?

    Many of the battle damaged helmets, which pass before us, were damaged on the battle field sans owner.
