    This is a helmet that i posted on here before but i now have it cleaned by using oxalic acid. It revealed 2 decals and lots of paint and also this must of been a reissue because the decals were painted over and i can see the first layer of paint under the second layer, its a beauty

    Looks like it wasn't a very rusty piece to begin with, did you remove original paint just to get to the decal remnants?

    No I didn't touch it I only put it in the acid and it removed most of the rust that was covering the paint

    Make sure you neutralised the acid goon - an alkaline wash in bi-carb soda or clear water will do.
    NOW you have cleaner metal, it will corrode - you need to keep it in a box / bag / protected display case or seal it with wax or MATT clear lacquer or it will deteriorate again.

    Try and heat it up in the oven to 50-60 C for an hours or two. Just to get rid of the moist.

    Looks Great Goon, beautiful back drop too if i may say so, I like it a lot and as Krad said i'd like to see some "before" pics.
