German helmet from Stalingrad

Article about: I've gotta try to get some of that stuff. It's amazing how it doesn't destroy the paint or decals.

    Before using oxalic acid, I washed this helmet, I used only water.
    On the surface a lot of rust. You can see a fragment of decal - eagle.

    I solution of oxalic acid in warm water. Helmet was in an acid solution about an hour. To remove rust, I used a sponge for washing dishes.

    Well, I think after cleaning this helmet look good

    New helmet dug up today
    M-35.
    White is a raid. I think this is a raid of calcium carbonate, salt from the soil.
    Soon I will publish the photo after cleaning in oxalic acid.

    After cleaning, that 'battle weary' helmet with the decal looks great.............!

    I think the helmet with the white deposits should clean up pretty good in the Oxalic, the rust doesn't look too heavy so i'm expecting another nice relic photo soon!

    After using oxalic acid sites appeared to paint, but this is not enough. Alas, the miracle did not happen.
