Before using oxalic acid, I washed this helmet, I used only water.
On the surface a lot of rust. You can see a fragment of decal - eagle.

I solution of oxalic acid in warm water. Helmet was in an acid solution about an hour. To remove rust, I used a sponge for washing dishes.
Well, I think after cleaning this helmet look good
What do you think?
That decal has come up great, better than some ive seen on relics
New helmet dug up today
M-35.
White is a raid. I think this is a raid of calcium carbonate, salt from the soil.
Soon I will publish the photo after cleaning in oxalic acid.
After cleaning, that 'battle weary' helmet with the decal looks great.............!

I think the helmet with the white deposits should clean up pretty good in the Oxalic, the rust doesn't look too heavy so i'm expecting another nice relic photo soon!
After using o-phosphoric acid was removed raid of calcium carbonate.
I think it looks great! Another fine relic!
Me too. The acid works well on these relics.............!
