Hi guys, thought I'd like to share my ground dug lid, when I got this it was nothing but rust flaking off, no paint left whatsoever. So I made the decision to carefully clean the live rust off, I used wirewool and fine sandpaper, I know some of you will be cringing but if you saw the before helm you'd see why I cleaned. Give me both barrels if needed, it cost me 50 quid so no major loss. Also after cleaning some original paint showed up so I tried to leave these areas.

Thanks! That's a relief I was expecting to be gang raped over it tbh lol! I used beeswax furniture polish to try and protect it, I was going to varnish it but then came to my senses!

Nice honest relic, a thin layer of beeswax and a dry home is all it needs!..
