I have a Kurland helmet with black paint too ( over the white cammo ) ...... it has puzzled me why this is?

I do not know.I think it is the color of spring.I had some 6 black camo helmets

Maybe due to long periods of darkness during the winter months the black helmets were more effective as camoflage?
