    I’m in agreement with MAP in regards to it possibly being some type of post war vet art piece.

    From the photos it appears the shell has no remaining feldgrau paint but paint over a pitted surface. Being able to see the interior of the shell would help in providing an opinion.

    It’s definitely an Imperial German WW1 relic shell but thats all that can be said. Hope you didn’t pay too much for it.

    No, But I like it. It's almost at my cut off point for being too salty! LOL. Yup like the transitionals the best now. M35 did take some study but trans will suprise you now and then. WB
