    Nice - you are certainly racking them up....... I did similar with relics years ago then before I knew it I had nearly 30 rusty helmet shells and only a couple of truly decent ones and the money I spent getting quantity would have been better spent on quality....


    ......... but, bugger it, the hunt for WW2 rust was great!!

    Hey Dan I just got it because it was cheap $80, I don't do relics that much but have a few dug items and wanted to use it for display

    Honest enough M40 relic, just the script on the inside of the rim is post 1945 (applied over the rust).

    Im not so sure... the rust is bubbling from UNDER the yellow paint on the 'R'.

    Didn't expect a post a post like this from you Dan, but I do get your point.
    For me personally, what gives a relic extra appeal is knowing the battlefield it came from, unfortunately that information is often lost or unreliable.

    To the OP, nice relic, I like the eagle peeking through.
