Article about: Hey folks, Came across this relic.. Seems a heer m42.. The decal comes through( if you look veeeery close, right?)

    Thanks Glenn just a thought i applied a wax coating on my stahlhelm relics and just left them to sit quietly on the shelf ,this process also helped to highlight any decal remnant's

    That's the ticket! Good old renaissance wax and then let them be...

    Renaissance Wax , seems the way for long term protection, have any of you guys used the pre lim, is it any good.

    It's the Xylene in WD 40 that evaporates so quick. Xylene is a great cleaner when heated to boiling which is a low temperature and easy to chill after evaporation but it dries out very quickly. When I was young I worked with industrial circuits and Xylene was one of the major cleaners and is a major component of WD 40
