Totally agree with Dan Can't tell if it is the inside looks same as outside I don't totally rule it out I think this one might stand a chance of being a real winter cammo they are always hard to tell. timothy

In the past, I saw such helmets to sell in Kreta, they come from charnel(not sure of the world) andthe white was sediments from bones.

Just trying to understand how it could be paint when it covers the inside where the liner band would have been.
So I'm leaning towards it being a reaction or corrosive effect of the metal.
