My opinion is that it is a fake. Why would it have 3 regular split pin holes plus the FJ bolts which seem to be in the wrong places.

probably cut down from a m-35 and made very rusty by the unscrupulous...
The flare does not seem to have the right dimensions. Also, the slots look too short and too wide. I am suspicious of this one. The total of seven holes for the 2 liner attachment systems does not, by itself, mean it is bad, because the first liners were similar to the M31 systems, and then the well known para configuration we see in the M38's was designed, and some of the early slotted shells were refitted with the new liners. Never the less, this one has too many red flags for me. Jim G.
It would appear to me that the front split pin holes are not in the correct position, they should be further forward and somewhat lower also the spanner bolt is too high and would appear that it has been sited where the ordinary vent hole would be, as well as agreement to the elongated slot along the rim, too big and it looks like it has been drilled at both ends then cut to form the slot, imo a very dubious helmet
Very bad fake, with hand cut slots -drilled and then sawn, as Davejb said- and based on a fake m38 shell, IMO.
