The vent holes and liner pin holes have been welded shut, presumably to have made the helmet into a receptacle or bowl of some kind.

Oh, I see now, welded vents and mounting holes to make it watertight. Yeah the price is pretty rich, but I've been watching it for a while. Also I wanted to know just what was going on with it.
