Default unsure because its a damaged relic

    Hi,

after my little incident with a spanish helmet, i thought id go hunting for the real thing.

i dont have a huge budget, because its going to be sitting on a desk in my office and my other half will despair if i spend too much on an object that she will not like. Anyway i found this, and although its damaged, it has real history and decals comes from stalingrad as a find.

just wondered what you guys thought? its going for about £160.

    your advice is welcomed.

I hate to say it, but I don't think the decals are right. It looks like someone has blow torched that tri colour to age it, as the rust is new rust. How much have you got to spend (roughly) I'm not thinking of you buying from me, I'm thinking I know where a few "good" ones are, reasonably priced

Looks like the Russians have used it for some target practice , if you are going to spend £160 on a relic you can get lids in far better condition than this.

At the moment a lot of the diggers in Stalingrad are charging some ridiculous prices for relic lids

Don't put me on a pedestal Its a long way to fall

But thanks. I would say that 250 would buy you a tired SD Army. A super relic, or a really good No decal M42. Leave it with me for a couple of days, I'll try and remember to get back to you. My minds mush at the moment, sorry

Your welcome mate it's a real piece of history that one

For some reason a lot of the guys in Russia haven't heard of the recession and are really hiking up the prices at the moment

Wonder what it would cost to get one of Gary's SS lids off him ??
