2 x FJ helmets for review

Hi, grateful for any opinions on these 2 helmets. This is the first one, unfortunately not many pictures of this example.

Wait for Terry (M38) to log on.
For me the wear to the liners looks forced and not consistent with the wear to the outside. Oddly similar too which is weird unless the wearer had steel wool for hair.

Just first impressions.... guess the seller wants $$$ for these?

Thanks Danmark, I'm posting these for a good friend. He has been offered a choice of one of these in a trade, so no actual cash being exchanged, but probably against something substantial. FJ helmets are outside of my area, and my friend has limited time to make a decision. These things are enough to give you beads of sweat!

If they both look OK I suppose it's a case of which one to take?

Hi Chris, just to clarify, there are only 2 helmets here. The first one has only 3 pictures, the second one has more and is spread over two posts as I couldn't fit them all into one post.

Interesting pair of helmets. Both are real helmets as far as I can see from these pictures - shells, liners, straps, bolts. As far as paint, I think the second one is almost certainly real and original wartime camo painted. I really don't see any problem with the condition of the interior vs the exterior. I think it is super cool that the maker/size stamp is mis-applied and done twice.

The first helmet MAY also have original camo paint but at the very least, it appears to have been heavily cleaned or scrubbed. Add to that the damaged liner, I would not be too interested in owning that one based on condition alone. More and better pictures would help for sure.

So all in all, if offered the second one I'd jump at it. If only offered the first one, I'd probably pass. It's too bad because the first one actually has a more interesting camo pattern.
