Hi all, appreciate all the feedback. My friend has decided to pass on these after some mixed feedback from various sources. I don't suppose they are the easiest thing to collect, and even the smallest of doubts can have an effect on the nerves....

You should tell your friend to reconsider and pick up the second one. I'm not solid on the paint of the 1st, but the 2nd one is a beauty! Not an easy lid to find these days in Any condition, and This one is top shelf!

Maybe some day forensic science will advance to a point where paint can be accurately dated or chemically broken down as to origin , i'm sure component parts have changed over time . Just a thought .
