Article about: Hello guys. What are your thoughts about this M 38 helmet? For me it looks good...

Having now seen the markings on this I'm afraid it doesn't look good to me. Such maker marks should not produce that doming on the outside, that clearly shows they are added later, the ET font is wrong to me also. If it was sold to you as original I think I would be asking for a refund. Sorry.

Agree with BlackCat. This one is no good. Stamping, rim, visor, overall shape - all bad. Send it back.

    Cheers,

Having now seen those stamps, I agree with BlackCat and M38, though I don’t believe anyone could still be thinking otherwise.

The stamped letters do not even appear to be from true dies, rather, made up from individual punches (a thin line and a triangle). The raised area behind the stamps, to the outside of the shell, indicates unsupported or weakened metal. If you are happy with the shape, it may even be an original relic shell that someone has made a poor and pointless attempt to dress up with a maker’s code.
Whatever its fate, it is clearly not one to entertain in your collection.
I hope you have no trouble with the return and reimbursement.

    All the very best,
    Bob
