I cam across this m38 and was a little bit suspicous about it. If I could get a few more opinions,

We are going to need a lot better pictures than this to be able to give an opinion. It is not a one look obvious fake, nor a one look real one. Need good closeups of the stitching in the liner, the stampings on the shell, the inner rim, the bolts and nuts, the chinstrap including the buckle and grommet holes and stitching and snap. Lots of telltale signs need to be checked and can't tell any of them from these pics.

I don't think the cover has any chance at all, but I don't claim to know much about those.

I can pretty much guarantee this is a Czech made fake. Note the large gap at the back between the liner band and the shell. This is due the incorrect shape of the shell.

The camo cover is 100% bad.

These fooled a lot of people when they first hit the markets in the 90's.

Aside from the poor liner band fit, note the tan coloured liner pads and the rather too flared rear rim of the shell.
