M38 fallschirmjager helmet

I was surfing around the internet looking at M38's and I found some photos of this nice Fallschirmjager helmet it would appear to be slightly modified I wonder if I should see if the person that ownes it would part with it . I was thinking possibly purchasing it for my wife for Christmas and when she is not using it I could put a liner in it and display it with my headgear

Maybe the three eyes on top are for hooking your parachute to.

I was thinking more on the lines of it being a pasta strainer myself but that is a possibilty as well .

I have seen a few variations on this type of reused German helmets and would really like to add one to my collection, though they are getting a bit pricey these days, I think. Most I have seen were converted into jugs and I have some pics of some from the resistance museum in Amsterdam and will post them when I can find them.

Off course, the example shown is the tropical version with air vents and extra loops for attaching corks to keep the flys away, IMO

It is quite a stunning variation to an M38 by far it has to be the nicest one I have seen posted to the forum in a while
