M38, opinons?

Hi guys,

This lid is for sale in my hometown for what I think its a good price. As I know next to nothing about M38's, I would like an opinion. I know the photos arent good but can you guys spot any pitfalls?

I would pass on this one, it looks fake to me, including the liner and chinstrap arrangement.

There is no age at all to the wire cover, artificial aging to the helmet, which to me (the helmet) is suspect too.

I agree with Bob, and would like to add that IMO the twist of the wire is not period correct.

Good advice above. Nothing on this one dates to WWII.
