Finn issued Italian M33 Helmet

Carrying on with my sporadic, yet intermittent Finn helmet buying binge - this Italian M33 arrived all the way from Finland this afternoon.

Looks to be all original Italian without any Finnish modifications (if they did any to Italian helmets, I don't know...) and in pretty nice overall condition. Very much doubt if it ever saw any frontline use.

Still doing my research on it......

OldSteel is very good with Italian helmets and hopefully he chimes in.
Personally im leaning towards it being a post war m33, but i am happy to be corrected.

The little research that I have done since having this helmet in my hands is leading me to believe that it may be too late manufacture to be one of the 30, 000 sold to the Finns in 1940.....but maybe, perhaps still wartime made. I didnt take a photo of it, but it has an 'S197' batch number stamped into the rim.

Looking foward to comments from others who will be more clued up than me...
