Re: unknown Swastika ?
Hello Pavel,
I was aware of Carsten but I guess I missed the info about him faking zinc pest. I have a few questions though...how can he replicate the zinc pest to make it continue to 'grow'? Is this man a chemist also!?
Regardless of this fact...this piece is not a "hero" piece by any means. I still think it is either some piece of patriotic jewelry or something completely unrelated to the TR.
But these are just my opinions...not saying that I am right!

Re: unknown Swastika ?
Although the 'zinc pest' idea works for zinc items - the swastika badge first posted
is not made of it. If anyone noticed, the corrosion is green, which would indicate
bronze or brass, and can be easily formed or worked up naturally over
a few months or days with the right persuasion.........

Re: unknown Swastika ?
Hey guys, i could have sworn i have seen this colour scheme used before on an early membership badhe. I think that it is an early membership badge from a country such as the Netherlands...
Thanks, Glen.

hi chrys, i agree this item has no association or connection to carsten/ hero . in relation to his fake zinc pest , its not active/live zinc pest . but a surface applied fake coating . further information can be found on the WAF site . i can recall a thread on that site when i was a member there that highlighted his production of a CCC with fake zink pest , it was quite a convincing example....regards pavel
