Guys at NMB seem to be uncertain of the correct Japanese spelling of this "Toyosuke". It's the form of "suke" that is in question.

I noted during my searching that there have been questions whether or not the suke kanji is 佑 or 祐.

What I see is:
豊佑作
Toyosuke saku
This suke 佑 uses the イ (人 nin) radical.

It definitely is not
豊祐
This suke, 祐, has the ネ (示 shimesu) radical.

I just looked at it again and expanded the size. I think now I see 佐.

When I first looked at it, I thought the last 3 strokes were 口, but I was wrong.

I would have thought that 兼佐 would be Kanesa. But when I researched the kanji 佐 I found that for names it can be "suke."

Sheesh!

Thanks Guy, I passed it along. The owner will just have to look in the books to see if there was a "Kanesa" vs "Kanesuke".
