    Hi Ade, a Muzzle Cover that was attached to the rifle; first one I've found with this type cover attached. Best, Hal

    Thanks Hal, I wondered if it was, but never seen one before. Japanese stuff is not that common here. Our lads brought home very little from the Pacific.

    Hi Hal , thanks for showing this vet acquired grouping , it makes a great display , your two bayonets are type 30 examples which were introduced in 1897 . The straight quillion variation is stamped by the Toyoda Jidoshoki Seisakusho company ( Toyoda Automatic Loom Works ) a sub contractor under the supervision of the Nagoya Arsenal . The hooked quillion variation was made by an unknown sub contractor under the supervision of the Kokura Arsenal . The field cap is wonderful , in super condition , and from what i can see is date stamped Showa 18 which translates to 1943
