    Hi guys.

    Here another japanese pay book.
    I have done a little searching, and I think it finishes in 1942.
    I believe that this guy was a sergeant major of 48 regiment of infantry, but anything else.

    Could anyone help me to discover if there is something interesting inside.

    Looks like your guy had a specialty with chemical warfare, but come to think of it, I don't know what all that entailed, whether it was purely decon. related or he did offensive stuff as well. I always thought artilleryman were exclusively the chem. warfare guys. Maybe the heavier mortar guys fall into it as well -- wow, quite the ramble there.

    Of note is his awards of an 8th class Sacred Treasure, Marksmanship Badge and numerous diligence awards. Service records show he was a guard for the Sasebo Warehouse in 1942. Before that he was at Fort Nagasaki for protecting the port and shipyards.
    As to his specialty in gas, this referred only to defense and decontamination. The subject items he had to be familiar with as a gas specialist are shown in the training list below.

    Could you tell me the soldier name?
    Was he a major sargent as I thought.
