Although I do not live in the UK, I have bought several swords from collectors in the UK. Two of them originally got their sword from the USA. I have never heard that it is illegal to own a Japanese sword in the UK.

I would suggest not putting it on ebay. You would be better off selling it on the forum or to a collector who will appreciate it and not paying the ebay fees and having to abide by their rules.

I'm sure there are people here who can advise the correct outlet to sell it for the best money and to the best person.
I agree. Try to sell it here

    Cheers

Great that this turned out to the the real thing.
Lately, I have begun to take a shine to these WWII factory made swords as compared to the hand made ones.
Too bad, that you have to sell it. But thats just me.

Your OK to import a sword into UK if it was made before 1954 or has been made by traditional methods.I assume here You want a wartime one.You will also catch import tax if it comes from non EU country.
