Just out of interest guys im in the UK wanting to own a Japanese sword can i buy one from another country or is it illegal anyone know please as it would be a big gamble.Cheers
Although I do not live in the UK, I have bought several swords from collectors in the UK. Two of them originally got their sword from the USA. I have never heard that it is illegal to own a Japanese sword in the UK.

Too bad, that you have to sell it. But thats just me.
Your OK to import a sword into UK if it was made before 1954 or has been made by traditional methods.I assume here You want a wartime one.You will also catch import tax if it comes from non EU country.
