We'll need Nick to vet this .....
舫工一〇六 号
Mooring Construction No 106
Might be Dock worker??? 舫 means "mooring", "painter". It is composed of the two kanji meaning small boat 舟 and person/direction 方. Sometimes you can get the jist of a kanji when you break it down .... but that's really asking for trouble -- sometimes the clue is in the sound one of the supporting kanji makes.
Paging Mr. Nick Komiya -- please pick up the white courtesy phone .........
The other one is simpler:
中隊長
Chūtai Chō
Company Commander
--Guy
Thanks Guy! Appreciate your help! Geoff, I'll post additional photos tomorrow
I didn't see the white kanji.
射
Sha
Shoot/shooting
Probably short for shageki 射撃 shooting/marksmanship]
--Guy
Thanks Guy! Someone told me decades ago it might of been "Commander of antiaircraft unit"
A beautiful helmet overall
