Default Help with Some Items please

    Hello,

My Grandfather has enlisted me to assist him is selling some items from his collection. He was a marine in World War 2. Recon.

He pull a few things off a KIA Japanese soldier and is now asking me to sell them.

One is a canteen that I have found references for but the problem I am having is locating any reference to this, what I believe to be called a Hachimaki. Any direction or idea of a value or what this would help me greatly. Thank you!

The "hachimaki" is navy issue, typical navy tag. The bottom middle column says: 19 year, 1st month so January 1944. The second column from the left with brackets says 8th year ? month so 1943. I can't say for sure whether it is a hachimaki or decipher the rest of the tag.

There are some knowledgable folk here who can do better than that, so here's hoping...

    Best, Rod

Thank you I'm shocked.. It seems so short. It's only about 30-32 inches long.. Does it have any value?

    Hi,

Looks like a nice IJN scarf/tie, with the former owner's name written on.

His name is Miyakawa (宮川). However need better photo of his IJN position.

it's a Sasebo Depot manufactured example. Last column.

    Regards,
    Taka
