IJN Helmet??

Hi Friends,

I've found what appears to be IJN helmet shell on a bidding board, however the liner looks doesnt look right but more like a civic liner with D-rings. So I wonder if its an original or if someone modified it pre-war, comments and opinions are welcome.

I'm going to bring this thread to the attention of a friend well versed in Japanese helmets. It appears to me to be a Frankenhelmet. A mix of civil shell, reproduction Navy insignia and a liner from parts unknown. I hasten to add that I'm no expert, hence the call to my friend who will know for sure.

I agree the insignia appears to be a repro the rest of the helmet original common civic helmet with added insignia
