Well done on finding an excellent example Steve but beware , they are very addictive , i think i have nine or ten at last count . They are like works of art to me , and funnily enough , one of them i sourced in Canada and i did look into this at the time .

Here are some of my other flags - The problem is, are they
original - and exactly what era are they from ? A couple
of sellers claimed they were from Veterans of the
Pacific Theater, and the others came directly
from Japan.........

A funny story about the above photo - it was down to the last
30 seconds or so at auction, and I mistakenly punched in
something like $2,650 instead of $26.50. I think it was
around $35 in the end, which is a lot really.........

Canada's IJA artifact problem, at least where I live is a dirth of military antique stores, thank God for the Internet. We use to have a decent shop here that got busted for its funny gun dealing business, a really bad move in gun-phobic Ontario. In order to rectify the situation I'm doing my level best to bring the entire Imperial Japanese Army war effort to Canada one item at a time, still have a way to go...

similar problem - they weren't allowed to sell
