    Default Japanese binoculars.. late war?

    Greetings this is my greatest find yet!!! I got these on my birthday at fleamarket for 10$ the seller clearly did not realize they were military nor that they were Japanese. Which of course I respect them for that They work perfectly, also I did some research but could not find much. The company that made them is Yashima, which became or made yashica (camera comapny) in 1948. Under that is tokyo then the serial # 73357 then JES b9 or b5.
    On the right it has 6 x 9.3 degrees. Um follows typical Japenese design ect. So my questions are;
    is it late war?
    Is it authentic Japanese ww2?
    what is it worth?

    Hi jh92 , that`s a nice pair of binoculars you have picked up for a great price , well done ! Unfortunately i do not believe that they are from the WW11 period . The Yashima Seiki Company was formed in 1949 originally making electric clock components , but by June 1953 had made their first camera , the Yashimaflex and starting a relationship with the Tomioka Optical Works that would last for years . Yashima changed it`s name to Yashika Company Ltd. in 1957 . The trade mark on the binoculars is for the Shin-Yashima Optical Co Ltd . I therefore believe your binoculars to have been made between 1953 and 1957 .I hope i have helped you a little , you have a very good deal for $10
