This canteen just arrived in my collection. Although the leather stopper retainer is dry, it's in overall great shape.

I believe it is named to:
    石田原口
    Ishida Haraguchi
    or
    石田源口
    Ishida Minaguchi

I believe it was made in Showa 14 (1939) by the Tokyo Depot and inspected by Nishimoto.

If anyone can clarify this info, I'd appreciate it!

Canteen looks good - that it comes with carrying strap dots the 'i.'

Not a bad canteen at all, Joe-san.

You are right on the date, Mfg. About the name, is hard to tell....Certainly not Haraguchi (a Last name), is Gen or Hajime. However I can't make out the last character.

The leather strap is still nice, please take good care of it.

    Thank you for posting.

    Cheers!

To give our members an idea of how difficult Taka-san's task is -- of "guessing" the given name -- check out the possibilities.

In hand, the last two characters sure do look a lot like this:
    源口Minaguchi[surname]
