Hi, can anyone provide some opinions on this blouse?
Still havent any Japanese uniforms, so im hopping this one will be a good tunic.
Thanks

Hi, picked up this Japanese ground defense tunic, yesterday.
Its named.
But its a very small size, barely fit the manequin.

I could be mistaken but i believe this is a maritime defense blouse, due to red star.
Can any one provide period ranks for comparison?
Thanks

I always thought the star insignia was for a civilian employed by the army. btw, it looks like the tunic is named to a Murata.

I think that there might be information in Nakata's book about the insignia: IMPERIAL JAPANESE ARMY & NAVY UNIFORMS & EQUIPMENT Vol. 1 It will be interesting to have definitive information on your tunic.

This is definitely a wartime Gunzoku (civilian attached to the military) tunic, not postwar JSDF.
Red star indicates "Other" branch (how helpful!).
Thanks for the info haru , and well done on your find Nuno
