Looks OK, though not much you can research about. Somewhat of interest are several slogans that express democratic ideals as if these were politicians. Here is a clearer version.

It doesn't look too bad to me. Its a shame there are no closer pictures of the corner tabs. The genuine Hinomaru Yosegaki, or 'Good Luck Flags' are invariably discoloured and stained rather than the wonderfully clean and clear versions that regularly crop up on a certain well-known internet auction site.

    Default Ooooooooooo ..... Nice Flag!

    Beautiful! I like this one.

    贈 岡村君
    Zo Okamura-kun
    Presented to Mr. Okamura

    武運長久
    Buun Chōkyū
Everlasting Luck in the Fortunes of War

    池 仲右衛門
    Haike Chō'e'mon
This would be the person who calligraphed the flag.

I'm not certain about the kanji, so it's in pink; however, it is the only kanji amongst the thousand (or so) place-names/surnames-list that I looked through that is remotely similar in overall shape. But again, I'm just guessing and will wait for a knowledgeable person to make corrections.

Just a little update on this.
The flag was captured by Sgt Loton of the Artillery Regiment at Kumoun on 30th March 1945.

    REGARDS AL

We are the Pilgrims , master, we shall go
Always a little further : it may be
Beyond that last blue mountain barred with snow
Across that angry or that glimmering sea...
