My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Obviously post war (it's dated LoL). GI leaving his new love? A new friend saying goodbye?
If someone could help translate the Japanese or Kanji for me it might put it into context. Maybe this other writing is from someone else. But from how it is positioned I think it is just the Japanese version of the English.
I'm seriously thinking of picking this up. If legit this is a great piece of history IMHO.

So.....nothing? Time to close up the show and go home?
I personally found this very interesting and was wondering what others thought as well.

Since its post-war stuff , there aint many collecting it.
Yes, I agree. And maybe I'm a romantic and reading too much into this.
But to me it kind of wraps up the story of the conflict. A soldier, obviously from the Army of Occupation, makes some type of friendship with what appears to be a Japanese lady. How? why? I do not know. Just friends? Lovers that can never be together? Then is shipped back to the States and is given this farewell message.
Or it could just be a souvenir item....
