Japanese money GI signed

Some paper money ,looks like taken from soldier ,as one bill is signed with American names.Kind of unusual as not many Japanese soldiers carried money?Vet auction buy.

My grandpa brought back a rather long one with several different types of currency taped together, including Japanese, from the Pacific. He collected several different signatures during his time in the war, including Olivia de Havilland and Gary Cooper.
