Japanese samurai sword made by the locals ???

what are your thoughts on this sword
its being offered to me

the story is they were made in occupied areas held by the Japanese
it measures 25 inches

Identical to other theater made swords I have come across in the hands of veterans. All that I have encountered have a provenance to WW2 era china.

IMO,,these types of swords was made by locals and sold to the soldiers as originals.
Personal I dont like them ,they are so crudly and poor made.
