Japanese Type unmarked 30 bayonet “last ditch”?
Article about: I would like some help on this WW2 Type 30 Japanese unmarked bayonet. The bayonet is crudely milled and made. There are no manufacturing stamps on the blade. But there is a number 19 neatly
-
To all commenters: So why would anyone produce in volume a repro trainer with a stamped 19 on the end and carved 19 on the handle?? Pull out your LaBar book and look at all the cheaply constructed junk variations there are.
If you don't' have the book then by all means get it if you really care to learn about Japanese bayonets - but it is over $100 to ante up

Thanks for all of your thoughts and interest.

Any thoughts, info and ideas would be greatly appreciated.
It could be an allusion, but the blade looks shorter than normal. If still at hand, what is the blade length from the front of the crossguard to the blade tip?

Sorry. I don’t have it in hand. I was posting this for a young collector. I don’t know if I will run across him soon. Sorry. But thanks for the interest.

Thanks for the reply. FYI, I am leaning toward a training bayonet on this too.

in LaBar book, there are a few one-off trainers that are rare. why fake a trainer?
