Just found one in the Imperial War Museum collection.
Coincidence rangefinder (OPT 400)
Hi,
I think in Japanese it was called:
九四式対空測遠器眼鏡 (Kyuu Yon-shiki Taikuu Sokuen-ki Gankyou) - Type 94 Suface-to-air Long-range Spectacles
Regards,
Taka
Nice piece mate..if you ever sell it let me know
I also find it interesting to see it in use on a tank! I would of thought tank gun had internal optics etc. Perhaps for longer distances?
not much good in the jungle, what.
I think what Harryamb2 is trying to get at, is that you minimum range of the rangefinder in 100 yards. Difficult to get 100 yards of clear view in dense jungle.
Does anyone have there own examples of this same rangefinders? or any of the accessories, box tripod etc? feel free to post if you do.
range finder « Catalog of Enemy Ordnance sorry just seen the link by ghp95134,this would be yours
What a really neat item , nice find !
REGARDS AL
We are the Pilgrims , master, we shall go
Always a little further : it may be
Beyond that last blue mountain barred with snow
Across that angry or that glimmering sea...
