Most likely fake WWII japanese battle flag
Just wanted y'alls opinion on this flag.

In my view it's an attempt to reproduce a Hinomaru no Yosegaki (Good Luck flag) rather than a battle flag. The uniformity of line in the writing is similar to those I've seen made with Magic Marker type writing implements. The kanji themselves appear to be a mix of numbers, randomly copied symbols and some fantasy kanji.
Others may view it differently so wait for confirmation.

Agreed 100%. Pseudo-Japanese writing -- I like your label of "fantasy Japanese".
It would make the perfect "bookend" item to display opposite an authentic "good luck" flag.
