Question Japanese Sword Katana Real? sword smith?

Article about: Hi Guys this is a new acquisition for me. I'm trying to figure out if this is authentic and if so whom the sword smith may be. Sword feels and looks good based on my limited knowledge, sword

    That is a typical cast army tsuba and they are never signed.

    The blade is machine made and it seems that it is oil tempered?

    Regarding the signature of Kojima Kanemichi in the case of machine made swords is his signature equivalent to say an inspector mark?

    Would he have inspected or is this spiritual?

    It's a little confusing coming from western world swords
