shin Gunto NCO markings.

Article about: Good morning gentlemen, I have a few questions in regards to shin guntos. 1) is it normal to find blades with no numbers? 2) handle and hilt (with markings) swapped over to a new blade. I.E.

Nika, you seem to have a gift for finding slightly unusual gunto! This shin-gunto looks completely normal except for the cap (koiguchi) on the opening of the scabbard (saya). That kind is normally seen on leather-covered combat saya. Maybe this simply means this saya did have a leather cover that is now missing.

Like you say, more pics will be helpful!

Since its a regular type, I think its just a replacment. Please let us have a close up photo.
