Here is another cup, made of metal, with the image of a Golden kite. It was difficult for me to take a good picture, I'm sorry...
    Rim:
    明治三七・八年戦役凱旋紀念
Meiji 37-38 War Triumphal Return Commemoration

    Inside:
    大君に捧し命なからへて今年そ満る 郷の花
Because of life dedicated to the Emperor, home towns are full of flowers this year

Now, don't quote me on the poem translation ... but it gives a feeling for what it means. And -- for some reason -- there are in the poem, but just ignore them; don't know why they appear.

Glad to help. The <?> area takes offense to the word "Furosatou" meaning hometown, and dropped the first kanji; 古郷
