To my eyes it doesn't look recent. I still like it.

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

I have it in hand of course so I can see directly that the whole bayonet does not appear to have been cleaned. The wood grips appear to be in original condition. They appear to have only been treated with linseed oil or something similar. NH
Hi,
I am in the same situation. This is also only my second type 30 bayonet.
I just recently acquired a Hikari Seiki Seisaksho Bayonet, minus the frog.
I think I got lucky as I only paid $50 USD, But I still need to pay shipping to NZ.
It had been marked as a WW1 bayonet.
The blade has been greased up and there is slight surface rust here and there.
I will give it a soft clean to remove the rust, but that's it.
I believe it's all pre 1942, But is there a sticky thread or resource I can use to try to roughly figure out it's year?
I guess I need to know the serial number first right?
Thanks,
Danger
Looks a nice example, Danger. A steal at that price, dealers would be asking £120+ in the UK. Hope the postage is OK, if it is from the US international shipping seems very high.
I would guess late 30's, very early 40's for a date; correct later pattern scabbard.
Cheers,
Tony
